How Mile High Chimney collects, uses, and protects the information you share through our website and lead forms.

Effective date: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: July 26, 2026

Mile High Chimney (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to being transparent about your data. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what personal information we collect through our website (milehighchimney.com) and lead forms, that we retain that information as part of our business records, and how we use it to run our business and serve you. By using our website or submitting a form, you consent to these practices.

The short version. When you fill out a form or contact us, we collect the information you provide (name, phone, email, ZIP, service details), we keep it in our business records, and we use it to respond to you, deliver service, follow up, and improve our business. We do not sell your information to third parties. Full details below.

Introduction

Mile High Chimney is a locally owned chimney sweep, repair, and inspection business serving the Colorado Front Range. This policy applies to information we collect, store, and use from you online — through our website, contact forms, and any communication that follows.

It also covers information you later provide over the phone, by text, or in person once you’ve become a customer or lead through the site. Information you share with third-party platforms (Google reviews, Facebook, Yelp, etc.) is governed by those services’ own privacy policies.

Information we collect and store

Yes, we collect and store personal information when you interact with our website and forms. Here’s exactly what.

Information you provide directly

When you fill out a lead form, request an estimate, or contact us in any way, we collect and store:

  • Contact information — your name, phone number, email address, and ZIP code
  • Service details — the type of service you’re requesting (sweep, inspection, repair, etc.) and any notes or descriptions you provide about your chimney
  • Property information — details you share about your fireplace, chimney, home, address, or the specific work needed
  • Communication history — records of your calls, texts, emails, form submissions, quotes, invoices, and any correspondence between us
  • Service and payment records — dates of service, work performed, photos taken during inspections, invoices, and payment method (we do not store full credit card numbers ourselves — those go through our payment processor)

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we (and our service providers) automatically collect and store technical information, including:

  • IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you view, links you click, and time spent on the site
  • The referring website or search term that brought you to us
  • General location (city/region) derived from your IP address
  • Cookies and similar tracking identifiers (see “Cookies & analytics” below)

How we use your information

We actively use the information you provide. Uses include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to your inquiry — providing the free estimate you requested, answering questions, and quoting the work
  • Contacting you — by phone, text, or email to schedule service, share quotes, confirm appointments, ask follow-up questions, and coordinate the job
  • Delivering the service — performing the chimney sweep, repair, inspection, or install you book with us
  • Ongoing customer relationship — sending appointment reminders, post-service follow-ups, seasonal maintenance reminders, warranty notifications, and other communication related to your service history with us
  • Marketing communications — sending occasional promotions, newsletters, service reminders, and offers to existing and past customers (you can opt out at any time)
  • Business operations — keeping records for accounting, invoicing, tax purposes, warranty claims, insurance, and dispute resolution
  • Referrals and reviews — following up to ask if you’d refer a friend or leave a review
  • Improving our business — analyzing patterns in what services are requested, which website content is useful, and how to serve customers better
  • Legal compliance and safety — complying with applicable laws and protecting against fraud, abuse, or safety issues
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell, rent, or trade your contact details to marketers, lead resellers, or any third party for their own advertising purposes. Your information is used by Mile High Chimney and our service providers to run our business — not by anyone else to run theirs.

Sharing & third parties

We share your information only in limited circumstances:

  • Service providers — trusted vendors that help us run our business, such as our website host, form provider, email service, scheduling software, and payment processor. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us.
  • Subcontractors — if a specialized subcontractor is needed to complete part of a job (rare), we may share only the details required to perform the work.
  • Legal requirements — if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of others.
  • Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Cookies & analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the site, and improve performance. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.

We may use analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to collect aggregated, anonymized data about site traffic and behavior. These services may set their own cookies subject to their privacy policies.

You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies. Disabling cookies may affect some features of the site.

Calls, texts & email

By providing your phone number on our lead form, you consent to receive phone calls and text messages from Mile High Chimney at that number in connection with your service request. This may include calls or texts to confirm appointments, deliver quotes, or follow up on the work.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Text STOP to any text from us to opt out; text HELP for help. You can also ask us to remove your number by calling (970) 528-5558 or emailing us (see below).

Email communications from us may include appointment confirmations, service updates, and occasional information about our services. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link at the bottom of any such email. Transactional emails related to an active service request will continue.

Data retention — we keep your records

We retain your information in our business records for as long as it’s useful to our relationship with you, and often indefinitely. Here’s what that means in practice:

  • Lead form submissions — kept in our CRM so we can follow up, quote work, and reconnect with you in future seasons
  • Customer service history — kept indefinitely so we can reference past work when you call us again, honor warranties, and provide continuity of service
  • Invoices, payments, and tax records — kept for at least seven years to comply with IRS and Colorado tax law
  • Inspection photos and reports — kept indefinitely as part of your service record and for insurance/warranty purposes
  • Communications — call logs, texts, and emails kept as part of the customer file
  • Website analytics data — kept in aggregated, anonymized form on an ongoing basis

You may request deletion of your information at any time (see “Your rights & choices” below). We’ll delete what we can, and keep only what we’re legally required or permitted to retain (e.g., tax records, warranty obligations, records related to an active dispute).

Security

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect the information you share with us against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. Our website uses HTTPS encryption to protect data in transit.

No system is 100% secure, however. We can’t guarantee absolute security, and you share information with us at your own risk.

Your rights & choices

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct — ask us to update or fix inaccurate information
  • Delete — ask us to delete your information, subject to legal exceptions
